I thought it said "James Toney signs with KFC!"
That would make more sense. |

I'm going to go on record right now and say Toney will impress alot of people. As usually I will be way ahead of the crowd. Don't get me wrong I'm not sayin Toney is the next UFC Champ, I am saying he beats everyone in front of him who wants to play the stand up game. Of course the formula to beat Toney will be simple, shoot the legs, obtain position or pull guard and submit. All the fools who think they will be beating him with kicks or punches will be lying prone on their backs.

With the kind of money Toney has made in his career he could afford to hire a world class wrestling coach & MMA coach spend hours on defense. |

I remember Dana White saying that he had to be sure Toney was actually training? I hope that is the case. White wouldn't sign him for multiple fights if he didn't have some assurance Toney wasn't learning. |

Toney's been following Dana around and hounding him about signing him. So Dana asks, "do you have any sort of wrestling training?" Toney says "Ya, I know all that shit." Maybe Dana's made some stipulations about Toney training mma since then. I'm not sure. One thing I know UFC.com says nothing about signing James. |

Bizarre news, really. I guess signing with the UFC isn't really a big deal, but still strange. |

Toney impresses with his knowledge of technical fundamentals by responding to Dana White's curiosity about whether he knows how to check a leg kick by responding that he's familiar with the front kick, the back kick, and even the rarely implemented "side check kick." This pearl of wisdom was most likely imparted by Toney's father, who is "one of the original death fighters" that "fought to the death, like in them movies..."
http://thegarv.com/James-Toney-on-MMA-the-...h-Fighters.html actually i heard that toney was a high school wrestler so he has some experience. toney claims his "pops" was a "death fighter" in india the press conferences are going to be GOLD! hopefully UFC matches toney up with a fighter that allows him to showcase his world class hands. kimbo, kongo, barry, hardonk, etc... i want to see toney fight one of those guys. |
